Tyres - again

I read in a report Rob Jebb intended to ride all on one bike but punctured on Whernside and that enforced changes.
I noticed some of the Wheelbase riders on Tufo tubulars. Was Rob on them too or Land Cruisers?
How did everyone fare with their choices? The Hutchinson Pirahna was great for grip and rolling resistance but proved a bit light-weight to stand up to sharp rocks. Thinking about choices for the next time already.

unlike the 4 punctures on the training day using lesser tyres my landcruisers did their third 3 peaks pumped up to about 75psi without puncture including a faster descent of Pen-y-ghent that last year . They were sketchy on Ingleborough from the top of Simon Fell to Cold Cotes but this was worth it for no punctures and a one bike ride.

My Son went up the Pen-y-ghent bridleway to spectate and descended as fast as I did ( he caught me on the road) with a 25mm Schwalbe marathon on the front and a twister on the rear, again pumped up hard with no problems although the rear wasn't good on the road.

Landcruisers @70psi and 89kg, no problems.

Kenda cross supreme on the front a CST cx pro on the rear , off road great grip and fantasic control from the chunky Kenda up front but terrible on the roads,

I used Landcruisers at 75psi and did Peny ghent in 24.59 3 minutes faster than last year ,and I weigh 95kg.I had no punctures with them and will not consider another tyre for the peaks.I used Premiato's the first time I rode had 4 punctures and missed the cut off in Horton by 20 minutes.

Landcruisers @ 70. No noticeable problems and great on the road. No flats.

But will 35mm tyres be allowed next year? If the organisers adhere to UCI cyclocross rules they won't, UCI have changed to maximum 32mm this year, I believe.

I won't buy a set of land cruisers and start wearing off some of the rubber just yet then?

Land Cruisers will always be allowed in the 3 Peaks. We do not always follow UCI Regulations and will continue with 35mm width maximum for tyres.
