Gloves & sore fingers

Postby dph » Mon Aug 08, 2011 8:03 pm

I always get sore fingers, especially by the time of the descent of PYG.

It gets a bit better each year as my descending improves - more relaxed and less brakes.

However I noticed from photos that a lot of guys use full finger gloves rather than road mitts. Do you think that would help. And any recommendations on gloves - presumably not too bulky.

Ta.

I use the same full finger gloves I wear for mountain biking (Specialized Ridge I think).
I tend to wear these more for grip than cushioning though.

You might be better off getting some thicker, more cushioned bar tape?

Hi Doug,
I use specialized full finger gloves that are designed for riding the MTB during summer months, light weight with mesh on the back of the hands but enough padding to stop blisters etc, well worth a look.

Thanks guys (Andy I presume?)

Bars are already double wrapped. I'll look at some summer MTB gloves.

I cut up old mtb grips and put the bar tape over them on the flats that really helps with the cushioning
